ANNOUNCEMENTS & INFORMATION

FOR PARENTS

 

The purposes and objectives of the Parents Association shall be to foster interest in the life of the Academy; to promote cooperation, communication and unity of spirit among parents, faculty, staff, trustees and students; to encourage understanding among parents concerning the Academy’s objectives; and to provide a means for parents to be of service to the Academy. Each Preschool Academy at Hopkins House has its own Parents Association.

The Preschool Academy Parents Association is open to all parents and/or legal guardians with children at Hopkins House.  Participation is free. 

General meetings are held monthly on the last Tuesday, beginning at 5:30 pm on the second floor of the Princess Street building.

HELEN DAY PRESCHOOL ACADEMY PARENTS ASSOCIATION

Dorothy "Dot" Michell - President.  She works as an Administrative Assistant.  She has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Capital Heights, Maryland.

Kendra Jacob - Vice President.  Ms. Jacobs works for the Alexandria City government. She has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia.

Moira Bindner - Secretary.  She has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

Michael Henderson - Treasurer.  Mr. Henderson is an IT professional.  He has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia. 

Damani Kelly - Events Planner.  Mr. Kelly is in the carpet cleaning business.  He has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.
